SITCOM | Algo diferente

SITCOM es un artista americano con un álbum ahora en la calle titulado "Be The One You Love". ¿Porque lo propongo hoy? Es diferente y bastante llamativo el sonido y su estilo. Tiene toques de "Gorillaz" pero también se le va la olla. Esto no es malo, con toda la mier*a que hay ahora sonando igual esto este artista y su disco es un alivio. No va gustar a todo el mundo, pero tiene algo que mola. Abajo su single con letra:

YO LA TENGO | 2018

Nuevo álbum de YO LA TENGO titulado "There´s a Riot Going On" previsto para el 16 de marzo. Aquí el single para ir degustando, otra joya de estos tips.

FELT | The Splendour of Fear (1984)

Quiero llamarte la atención a la banda británica FELT y en particular su segundo álbum "The Splendour of Fear". Un disco recomendado y algo oscuro en sonido pero de gran calidad. Tened en cuenta que hablamos del año 1984 periodo con muchas bandas tirando del estilo "goth". FELT estrictamente no eran "goths", más bien "alternativos" y lanzaron varios álbumes durante sus 10 años de activada. El mencionado, para mi, es su mejor...Busca más material por los canales habituales para escuchar.

SOCCER MOMMY | Sophie Allison

Un artista para descubrir y escuchar este fin de semana es SOCCER MOMMY, aka Sophie Allison. Lanza su álbum debut "Clean" el 2 de Marzo y lo que he escuchado puede ser un Disco 2018. Hay ya temas por los canales habituales (otro single bueno es el titulado "Cool") y esta tía me tiene enganchado con su sonido...Mola!

OKKERVIL RIVER | 2018

Si este adelanto es una buena indicación el nuevo álbum de OKKERVIL RIVER titualdo "The Rainbow Rain" (27 de april) va ser la o*tia.

VUNDABAR | Disco 2018

Señoras y señores tenemos un DISCO 2018. Titulado "Smell Smoke" nos lo presenta la banda de Boston (EE.UU) VUNDABAR. El tercer disco de estos tíos me tiene enganchado estos días con sus sonidos fuertes a tope con el volumen. Temario inusual como la enfermedad, cuidados intensivos ... y los costes "astronómicos" asociados en un país como USA, lo visten con unos sonidos Motherf*cker.

Gran Disco. Recomendado! 

THE CHOIR | The Unreleased Album

THE CHOIR fue una banda americana con cierto éxito en la escena "garage-rock" de sus tiempos (los 60s del siglo pasado). Se acaba de poner en la calle "The Unreleased Album", el disco no lanzado para traducir un poco. Un trabajo interesante para los fans del grupo y de los sonidos 60s.

AMERICAN PLEASURE CLUB | 2018

Propongo hoy el nuevo álbum de AMERICAN PLEASURE CLUB (antes "Teen Suicide" aka Sam Ray), titulado "A Whole F*cking Lifetime of This". Interesante disco en la linea "Lo-Fi" y más optimista que en trabajos anteriores. Única pega es la falta de consistencia, algunos cambios "raros" que rompen el rollo. Dicho esto es una observación menor. 

SUPERCHUNK | Super Power Pop

Vuelven SUPERCHUNK con un nuevo álbum "What A Time To Be Alive". Oferta de power-pop de esta banda americana dando guerra desde 1989. Un disco en su linea con el sonido "teen" característico y con mensajes contemporáneos de los tiempos USA bajo Trump.

No esta mal, merece una escucha.

ICEAGE | Desde Dinamarca

Para este fin de semana propongo una escucha de temas de a una banda danesa ICEAGE. Parecen chicos guapetes pero su oferta esta de p*tu madre. Tiene tres discos que puedes buscar por los canales habituales y acaban de adelantar nuevo material (un single nuevo) que pongo abajo. Va ver nuevo álbum pronto y después una mini gira Europea (no incluye España) y de los Estados Unidos.

REAGAN YOUTH | Recomendado

REAGAN YOUTH, banda hardcore-punk de New York de los 80 del siglo pasado siempre tienen un sitio aquí y un recuerdo. Si eres un lector "veterano" de este blog musical quizás les conozcas, si no, debes. Tienen mucho material por los canales habituales para escuchar y han influenciado muchas bandas después de ellos (...the Misfits, the Beastie Boys etc.). RECOMENDADO!

HOVVDY | Cranberry | Super Recomendado

Ya podemos anunciarlo, el segundo álbum de los Tejanos (Austin, EE.UU) HOVVDY titulado "Cranberry" ya esta disponible. Un discazo, al menos para mi, que tiene todos los ingredientes que más me mola del "indie-rock". Un trabajo "lo-fi", ruidoso pero a su vez acogedor y emotivo. Cojonudo!

Super Recomendado!

HIGH RISE | Super Recomendado

Relanzan este excepcional álbum de la mítica banda japonesa (Tokyo) HIGH RISE, titulado "High Rise II". Originalmente salio por primera vez en 1986, y ahora vuelve y tenemos (si, tu y yo) tenerlo en nuestras colecciones por que es la p*lla. High Rise tocaron la cima de su arte con este disco lleno de sonidos psicodélicos “a lo japonés”. Magnifico.

Buscarlo y su material por los canales habituales, es un SUPER RECOMENDADO! 

OUGHT | Gran álbum | 2018

OUGHT, son de Montreal (Canadá) y lanzan su nuevo álbum "Room Inside The World". Un trabajo que va gustar a sus fans y los que no les conocen. Vas a reconocer sonidos "post-punk" y de bandas innovadoras como "Talking Heads", pero sobre todo llamara la atención su particular interpretación que les hace únicos y la voz de Tim Darcy tan distinto.

Pedazo de disco, buscarlo!

HOLY MOTORS | Desde Estonia

Son de Estonia!!! Si, yo también me quede flasheado. Se llaman HOLY MOTORS y tienen en la calle su nuevo álbum "Slow Sundown". Me recuerdan mucho a "Mazzy Star" y otras bandas "Lo-Fi" y el disco no esta nada mal. Buen momento para buscarlo y escucharlo en casa tranquilamente.

UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA | Dirty | 2018

UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA lanzan un nuevo álbum el 6 de abril titulado "Sex & Food" y ya tienen single de adelanto. Sonidos de dirty Rock n Roll parece que es la oferta.

Nada nuevo, pero escuchando la mi*rda en oferta últimamente, bienvenido esto.

SIMPLE MINDS | 2018

Los viejos rockeros nunca "mueren"... SIMPLE MINDS siguen dando guerra, y la oferta no es nada malo. Lanzan su álbum de estudio Nº17 titulado "Walk Between Worlds". La voz de Jim Kerr es la marca principal y inconfundible, añades un toque de "lo moderno" con ritmos "Pop" y pinceladas "comerciales" ...y wuala...un disco competente y del agrado para los muchos fans.

Seguro que habrá gira de conciertos más adelante.

HOOKWORMS | Cambios acertados

Los Psych-Punks ingleses HOOKWORMS experimentan con sonidos Electro-synth en su tercer y nuevo álbum "Microshift". ¿Resultado? Un trabajo divertido, ecléctico y durante algunos tramos brillante. Buen disco que merece la pena explorar.

JAMES HUNTER | UK Soulman

Si no ves la portada del disco crees que la voz es de un cantante negro, no es JAMES HUNTER (The James Hunter Six) ingles blanco y lanza su segundo álbum "Whatever It Takes". Los críticos ya consideran este artista el mejor cantante "Soul" del UK. No se que decir, solo que lo hace de p*ta madre y su disco esta muy bien.

Búscalo por los canales habituales y darlo una escucha. Te dejo con un corte:

Introduzco desde Canadá Seth Nyquist, aka MORMOR, y su nuevo single "Heaven´s Only Wish". Sorprendente, y como también definen los críticos, impresionante. Imagino que habrá un álbum en el horizonte y este single es el desembarque... Mola!

KHRUANGBIN | Instrumental World Music - Latino

Son un trío de Houston (Texas, EE.UU) y su oferta son temas instrumentales de color Urban/World Music. KHRUANGBIN y su segundo nuevo álbum "Como Me Quieres" esta de p*ta madre, se escucha definitivamente un hilo latino de fondo en estructura. Algunos temas utilizan samples de "spoken word" para diversificar la oferta, busca y escucha el disco.
